We are delighted to announce the launch of our brand new state-of-the-art Training Academy, with courses available to book now!
Last week, we hosted a fantastic customer launch event to mark the official opening of the Segen Academy. This project was born from the dedication of our team and the invaluable feedback from our customers and technical experts.
Our purpose-built training facility aims to support the critical shortage of qualified renewables installers. It will also contribute to supporting government’s net-zero targets. Spencer Conday, Segen’s UK Managing Director, emphasised our commitment to setting a new benchmark in training standards. After speaking to both customers and our technical team, we’ve set out to not only meet the need for more installers but also uphold and elevate industry standards.
During the official academy launch event last week, those from across the industry toured our state-of-the-art facility showcasing our classroom and practical training spaces, including a purpose-built training roof, and hands-on booths for solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging, and heat pump training. Feedback from installers has been overwhelmingly positive, affirming that we have met our ambitious goals.
With courses starting in the new year, the Academy will offer four LCL Level 3 accreditations focused on residential PV, battery storage, EV charging, and a combined PV & BESS course. The Academy offers an 18th Edition Wiring Regulations course and plans to introduce additional courses in the coming months.
A true collaboration
We have collaborated closely with our industry partners for the training. MCS, SEUK, and the New City Trade Skills College helped us to develop a comprehensive curriculum. This curriculum covers best practices in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), heat pumps, and electric vehicle (EV) charging technologies. The focus on quality and skill-building for the sector is impressive.”

Our commitment includes reimbursing up to 100% of training costs to support as many apprentices and electricians as possible to transition to the renewables sector.
