True Black Modules – now even better.

JA Solar’s latest module features aesthetic true black glass for the darkest and most powerful panel ever.

Launched last year to a great reception from discerning solar professionals and system owners alike, the 54S31 LR solar module truly was a thing of beauty. Featuring specially manufactured aesthetic glass designed to absorb blue wavelengths and reflect only the deepest black hues, the p-type module didn’t just look good, but performed well too.

So how could JA Solar improve on that?
They’ve been working hard to better the first True Black module, and recently launched the 54D41 LB and it’s a winner. Here’s why…

• It’s n-type (better efficiency than p-type) and not affected by LID – read more.

• There’s glass on both sides with a transparent back so the module harvests light from both sides. The extra energy generated from the captured reflected light can boost a system by up to 30%! – read more.

• Also, like many other JA Solar modules they are fully traceable – every part of the supply chain is documented, read more.

So, its higher efficiency, improved low light performance, and a better temperature co-efficient should be enough, but the new module has 25-year product & 30-year power output warranty too!

Further notes on bifacial…
Modules make up the largest portion of the equipment cost of a PV system, making choosing correct module one of the most important decisions. Also, over 50% of European commercial and industrial roof-top projects are limited by the available roof space, most often with high energy requirements. For that reason, using high power modules, such as bifacial, makes more sense than ever. Minimal increase in cost of module allows installation of more kWp of PV on limited roof space, while the cost of the rest of hardware and labour remains unchanged.
